I buy these towels at a hotel supply store. They are a low napped terry. In my smoke free home I embroider the design and apply the borders. They are very labor intensive but I like making them.
This is very unique, I created the wording myself on my embroidery software. If you mag up the pic, you may notice a small amount of film over parts of the towel. No worries-- I have to use that so that the embroidery doesn't sink into the nap of the towel. Just a small spritz of the kitchen sprayer, and it disappears. Its water soluble.

Tell me about osnaburg
I love using osnaburg fabric. Its a natural heavily woven cotton. It has a nice texture that many compare to linen or burlap. Many of my designs are very dense, and it takes the stitches better than a flat fabric. Sometimes there is a random thread that doesn't take the color or bleach.Just like you'd see in linen or burlap. There aren't a lot of them, sometimes we won't see one in a project, other times you'll get one or two. They are super small, visualize a single thread woven in about an inch of the fabric. The fabric may also have a slub, this is not a snag, with a hole as if you snagged a sweater. Nature doesn't create cotton uniformly and most embrace the organic look. Neither are flaws.
